During Charlois Kapitaal three artists, Wilma Kun, B\u00e9r\u00e9nice Staiger
\nand Kathrin Wolkowicz will share an event- and exhibition space,
\npreferably an apartment, an intimate and familiar setting that is
\ninviting, playful and private and public at the same time.<\/p>\n
A space that allows to present art works and at the same time to
\npromote gathering and the exchanges of ideas. The three artists will
\npresent their own work and invite other artists, people living in
\nCharlois and abroad, people specialized in something, to meet, share
\nfood and talk about topics the three artists will prepare for the
\ngathered group.<\/p>\n
The audience can participate by chance or on invitation, in a set up
\nthat is open and sometimes semi-open, because we do not believe in
\nrandom openness but rather want to infuse the setting with some ideas,
\npeople and practices (as a form of curating).<\/p>\n
SHORT BIO<\/p>\n
BERENICE STAIGER has been active for foundation \u2019t O-the, an
\ninhabitants\u00b4 initiative, and organises events and exhibitions in the
\nshared projectspace \u201cAttent\u201d. She also develops and teaches creative
\nclasses to children and is part of the public discussion group
\n\u201cConversas Rotterdam\u201d that stimulates a discourse about creative work
\nand is working on an inclusivity by connecting artist and nonartist.<\/p>\n
WILMA KUN has put together the show \u201cSecret Garden\u201d as part of the
\nlast edition of Charlois Speciaal in 2018 in an abandoned house in the
\nWielewaal and regularly hosts collaborative gatherings in her own
\nhouse at the Wielewaal. She also runs a bookshop with a coffee corner
\nand cultural activities, called Huis der Zotheid, in the center of
\nRotterdam, with the intention to create a space to connect different
\naudiences. Wilma also co-organizes the Rotterdam youth festival and is
\npart of the press team and co-organizer of the Open studios
\nBorgerstraat, an artist collective in Spangen.<\/p>\n
KATHRIN WOLKOWICZ has co-curated the nomadic exhibition space Sils
\nas well as Suburban Video Lounge (Rdam Centre) and is part of the
\nWolphaertstraat1555 collective who develops together with Woonstad
\nRotterdam the dwellings of the former NAC artist accommodations and
\nproject spaces. As part of the Borgerstraat Collective in Spangen she
\nco-organized the guest artists\u00b4 exhibitions and worked for the
\npublication team. From 2017 on she is conducting a collaborative
